Versions of ‘The Witcher 3’ PS5/Xbox Series Versions have been delayed.
CD Projekt Red, publisher and developer, has a lot to do. Now it appears that there are problems with the new-gen ports for its most popular game, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.
It was announced last month that a fourth Witcher game is being developed. The devs have a team working on this but still has a dedicated group working to bring Cyberpunk2077 back to the original release. As if two substantial open worlds weren’t enough, the studio decided to continue work on The Witcher 3.
Saber Interactive released a great port of The Witcher 3 for the Nintendo Switch in 2019. It was announced that Saber Interactive would also be working on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X ports in September 2020. This was before the consoles were even released.
CD Projekt Red promised that an update would be available for all owners of the original Xbox One or PlayStation 4 copies. Still, the updated version would include all the latest generation features. Ray-Tracing was available, with stable 60fps and 4k graphics. There were also some favourite fan mods.
The official Witcher Twitter account posted yesterday (13/04) that the ports, which were scheduled to be released in the summer, are now being delayed. They have moved the port’s development into their own studio. This means that Saber Interactive is not outsourcing the project.
