This ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Remaster Is A Thing Of Beauty
Remasters are the hottest trend, fashionistas! Many era-defining classics, such as the Mass Effect Legendary Edition or the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy-Definitive Edition, have been remastered or remade recently. Even recent games can be given a facelift in the race to photo-realistic graphics. If rumours of a remake are true,
Assassin’s Creed is the only major franchise to appear to be associated with this trend. Ubisoft Montreal developed Assassin’s Creed in 2007. It was an open-world action-adventure stealth game for the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360. While Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a fantastic game, Altair’s trail through the Holy Land is what triggers true nostalgia.
It’s not surprising that Assassin’s Creed has yet to get an overhaul. However, a new mod has shown us how an updated Assassin’s Creed might look, and it’s great.
YouTuber and digital artist Digital Dreams created the remaster. He adjusted the game’s textures to show what Assassin’s Creed could be like with 8K visuals. The difference is enormous. Side-by-side visuals show that Assassin’s Creed looked very dull and uninspired.
This mod focuses on Assasin’s Creeds’ visuals. The eight-minute demo contains some clunky animations from the original game. However, Digital Dreams’ work is only a glimpse of what we can expect from a full remaster. While I would love to see Assassin’s Creed receive the full remake treatment, the gameplay would benefit. For now, however, I will continue to watch the remaster and dream.
